This report reviews the current design and application practices for primes and primerseals. Primes and primerseals play an important role in achieving a successful surfacing as they form the basis for the performance of future treatments. Any defect in the prime or primerseal can quickly impact on the serviceability of the entire pavement. The scope of this investigation included recommendations regarding future work associated with the design and selection of primes and primerseals.
