It is essential bridge infrastructure projects be constructed from materials conforming to the relevant standard. Historically, Australian Standards have detailed the performance criteria in construction products are required to achieve, but generally there was no criteria regarding minimum sampling and testing requirements to demonstrate conformance to the Australian Standard. The purpose of this paper is to discuss procedures is to ensure all construction products conform to the Australian Standard. Manufactures are required to demonstrate product conformity and then Third Party Conformity assessment is undertaken. This assessment of conformity demonstrates the material conforms. The process needs to be transparent. This paper presents a process to achieve the goal to have conforming product.
