This webinar, hosted on 19 May, provides an overview of changes to the Austroads Guide to Traffic Management. These changes follow the completion of Austroads project NTM6100: Translating research into practice – Advancing the Austroads Guide to Traffic Management. One of the aims of the project was to recommend and implement changes to the Guide to ensure that it is clearer and more useful to its users.

Presented by David Green and Richard Delplace, this webinar puts into context the importance of the Guide to Traffic Management and the need to keep it relevant and up to date.

It discusses an overview of the changes including:

  1. Changes made to the titles of the individual Guide parts
  2. Modifications of chapter 1 of each part of the Guide to a standardise structure
  3. Edits based on a review of six previously undertaken Austroads projects, including a project to update Austroads pedestrian planning and design guidance in line with international good practice.

Finally, the webinar briefly covers some of the opportunities for Austroads to consider with respect to the Guide as a result of four key identified gaps.

This webinar will be of interest to anyone who uses the Guide to Traffic Management and who may be interested in where the Guide is heading.
