An Austroads national workshop on asphalt was held to assist development of a research program and identify supplier and user risks which affect quality and performance. Delegates identified key issues under the themes of: mix design and specifications, quality, introducing innovations, development of industry expertise and capability, enhancing relationships in the asphalt industry, stone mastic asphalt, bituminous binders, aggregates, test procedures, occupational health and safety, and fitness for purpose. The key issues were prioritised and action statements subsequently developed for each.
