The report presents data on the asphaltene content of samples manufactured between 1956 and 1991. Asphaltene content is one of the main chemical properties used to characterise bitumen. Bitumens are generally regarded as colloids whereby clusters of asphaltenes are dispersed in an oily medium. The quantity and type of asphaltenes can have an important effect on the physical properties of the bitumen.
