Integrating Safe System with Movement and Place for pedestrians and cyclists

Project Number: SAG6130

Start: 1-08-2018
End: 28-02-2020

This project will synthesise evidence on Safe System treatments for vulnerable road users (pedestrians and cyclists) relating to different street environments, and will encourage all jurisdictions to apply the resulting guidance. The Movement and Place framework is increasingly being applied by jurisdictions to guide planning for a more integrated transport system for different user groups. Integration of Safe System principles and treatments into this framework will lead to environments safely catering for all road users. This integration is particularly important to support the liveability of places and local streets where there are greater numbers of pedestrians and cyclists.
