Sustainable roads through fit-for-purpose use of available materials

This project will assess the availability of naturally occurring roadbuilding materials and provide guidance on alternative solutions, including processed materials and mechanical or chemical stabilised materials. The project will develop a materials assessment framework and publish case studies of optimum use of non-standard road building materials in sealed and unsealed roads evaluated on a life-cycle cost basis.
