Cover of draft Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management

Austroads has released the Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management Part 10: Sample Layouts for industry consultation.

Austroads' Code of Practice for Temporary Traffic Management is being developed as part of the strategic priority project Safety at Road Worksites (Project BN2019).

The intent of Austroads member authorities is establish the nationally preferred and harmonised approach for undertaking temporary traffic management for works on roads.

The CoPTTM will be an eleven-part series that steps traffic control professionals through all of the processes, procedures and technical information required to develop, write, implement and manage traffic management requirements for work sites.

The new Code will, once completed, provide comprehensive national guidance for all practitioners operating in Temporary Traffic Management.

The draft is available here, and comments should be included on the document review template provided with the draft. Please submit your comments on the original WORD template provided with your organisation name in file name.  Comments provided on any other format may not be considered.  Please do not provide PDF versions of the comment template

The industry comment period closes on Thursday 13 June 2019.

The guidance material in this draft document is based on existing practices and amended to reflect the latest feedback from the Working Group consisting of Austroads member authorities and selected industry bodies.

The guides are intended to replace the relevant material currently contained in Australian Standard AS1742.3 and associated State and Territory documents. The material is also intended to reflect practices to be applied in New Zealand but due to differences in signage practices may require additional supporting documentation in New Zealand.
