This study aims to set a clear plan for the evolution of the Austroads Guide to Traffic Management to ensure it continues to meet the needs of users and remains a critical resource for member agencies and industry.
The study was undertaken over several stages, including discussions with subject matter practitioners over 33 practice areas, workshops with local and state government and industry representatives, a survey and a range of design and planning stages, drawing on the experience of Austroads, WSP and GTA (now Stantec).
The future guide product is proposed to shift away from the traditional publication-based format and into an online ‘ecosystem’ of information, with information provided within connected modules.
Through development of a ‘minimum viable product’ and continued investment in content and resources, the new product can elevate confidence and trust, broaden potential usage and, in turn, enable transport professionals to deliver improved outcomes for customers into the future.
Watch a webinar below to hear about the key findings of the review, insights from leaders within transport agencies and Austroads’ plans to transition from the Austroads Guide to Traffic Management (AGTM) to the new Austroads Guide to Traffic Operations Management (AGTOM). Presented by Richard Delplace, Andrew Somers, Simon Latham, Adam Law, Andrew Wall and Craig Moran.
