Austroads Technical Specification 5340 sets out the requirements for the patch repair of defective concrete using cementitious materials.
The process of restoring existing concrete typically includes:
- breaking back to sound and dense concrete to receive repair material
- preparation of steel reinforcement (including possible replacement of steel reinforcement) and concrete substrate
- application of an appropriate steel primer and substrate bonding coat
- placement of cementitious repair material.
