Austroads Technical Specification ATS 3050 sets out the minimum requirements for the manufacture and supply of recycled crushed glass (RCG) for use in the following applications:

  • As a granular material, including:
    • bedding and haunching of pipes and conduits
    • side fill and backfill of pipes and conduits
    • bedding and joint filling in block paving
    • drainage medium applications
    • embankment fill and earthworks applications
    • landscaping applications
    • partial aggregate replacement (mechanical stabilisation) for granular base and subbase material
  • As a partial aggregate replacement in asphalt;
  • As a partial fine aggregate replacement in concrete for:
    • general works; and
    • concrete pavement applications.
