The report describes the testing associated with the production of a database of the physical properties of selected Australian bitumens manufactured between 1956 and 2004. The properties are tabulated in an Appendix. In a series of graphs different bitumen properties are shown plotted against year of manufacture of the bitumen. Values of particular properties associated with field failures are identified and recommendations made on future testing and on future specification.
