Austroads Project AT1064 Long Term Performance Monitoring and Model Development was initiated in 1994/95. The project was reviewed in 2003 and later in 2007 by GP Youdale Consulting Engineers to assess the project’s program and progress and, if required, provide recommendations regarding the future management and direction of the program.

The objectives of the AT1064 long term pavement performance (LTPP) study are to: (i) assist in the development of nationally consistent pavement performance models for use at both the network and project level based on the understanding of the behaviour of in-service pavements; (ii) compare the results of accelerated loading on test pavements with the performance of in-service pavements; and, (iii) assess the effects of various maintenance treatments on long-term pavement performance (the LTPPM program).
