This document provides advice for users designing asphalt mixes using the Austroads mix design procedures. The advice given should enable users to produce repeatable and valid results. The tests covered in this document are; bulk and maximum densities, resilient modulus, dynamic creep, drain-off, stripping potential, fatigue and wheel tracking. It also covers; sample geometry, maintaining and calibrating test devices, how to conduct the tests, how to interpret results and how to establish whether results are valid. Due to the evolving nature of some of the tests some of the information may become superseded.
