The role of effective project/contract management in the successful delivery of Impressed Current Cathodic Protection (ICCP) systems has been recognised by RMS specification for ICCP, BS361, which has comprehensive provisions for the supervision of ICCP system installation on concrete bridges. This paper highlights the effective management of an ICCP system project through a case study of a recent rehabilitation project within the Sydney metropolitan area. The paper also describes the importance of being an informed buyer of a service and lessons learned in the project for bridges of the future.
