Cable-stayed bridges are currently the most attractive bridge type in the world. Their main spans cover a range from about 100m with one tower up to more than 1000m. Their intermediate construction stages are stable, because the flow of forces issimilar as in the completed stage, contrary to arch and self-anchored suspension bridges. They can thus be built without auxiliary supports.
