Pavement Crack Measurement with an Automated Crack Detection System
  • Publication no: AGAM-T018-16
  • Published: 30 September 2016

This test method defines the procedure for locating and identifying surface cracks in a road pavement using an automated crack detection system.

The presence of cracking is determined by automatically analysing either a 2D or 3D image of the pavement surface. Testing is carried out continuously and typically reported at a 100 m interval with measurements being made across the survey lane at speeds up to 100 km/h.
