Agency Performance

The implementation of the online National Performance Indicators (NPIs) is a process. Project team members were very supportive and most provided either raw or processed data to ARRB. Some members further investigated various means of retrieving data from a signal system, and some actively promote the installation of more detectors for performance measurement. All project workshops and meetings including a teleconference were well attended. The project is therefore a success in the context of being a process and before a project report is finalised. Further, by actively participating in this project, each jurisdiction has now one or more persons familiar with the retrieval and processing of online NPIs. The five online NPIs have been designed in a way that all road agencies in Australia and New Zealand can participate in reporting one or more of these online indicators. This report provides a set of first round results from all the data received from the jurisdictions at the time of writing this report. The results in the report employ a single and consistent method of processing and reporting as originally proposed. The only change found necessary is that the bin boundaries for the calculation of Reliability be reduced. The report should provide a clear platform upon which future online NPIs can be processed as more data sets are available and as more jurisdictions participate. Issues raised during the project were addressed and interim recommendations proposed.
