This project is expected to answer the key research question: What are the benefits and costs of investing in road and roadside infrastructure to support AVs?

The research undertaken will provide information to road agencies so they are able to understand the optimal level of road and roadside infrastructure needed to provide an optimal level of support for the automated features of SAE level 3 and level 4 automated vehicle travelling on freeways and motorways, as well as rural highways.
