While automated driving promises to deliver significant road safety benefits, a range of human factors can affect the performance of automated systems. Trials in Australia and the Netherlands have also shown significant differences in the way automated systems operate. This project will evaluate the roles of registration and licensing authorities in addressing these concerns including potential changes to driver training requirements and the types of information provided to road users.
