We're excited to welcome you to the new Austroads website. You'll find some useful tips to help set up your account and navigate our publications below.
Setting up an account
You will need an account to download publications, access the Guides Online, bookmark pages and sign up for RoadWatch Insights (our publications and events alert service). There is no charge to set up an account or access PDF or online versions of our publications.
To set up and account select login in the top menu. And then follow the steps to Create a New Account.
When your set up is complete you will receive an email which will allow you to activate your account.
Your profile page
On your profile page you can sign up for RoadWatch Insight, our publications and events alert service. RoadWatch Insight will be sent every Thursday but you'll only receive an email if we have released a publication or have an upcoming event in the subject area you have selected.
You can also sign up for our monthly newsletter RoadWatch Roundup and other alerts for specific publications and projects.
Bookmarks
You can bookmark any page on the site by clicking on the bookmark link on the top right of the banner.
You'll find links to your bookmarked pages on your profile page.
Feedback
Use the feedback widget to send us your suggestions about the site.
Publications
Our library of Guides, research and technical reports, test methods and conference papers can be accessed by selecting Publications from the top menu.
The search bar in publications lets you only search for publications.
The subject area drop down lets you narrow browsing and searching to the subject chosen.
Guides Online
Browse online version of the Austroads Guides via the publication landing page. You'll also find pages from the Guides in your search results.
While each Guide Part is internally linked, the Guides still need to be externally hyperlinked. This means that if you are in Guide to Road Design Part 3 and there is a cross reference to Guide to Road Design Part 6, the cross reference will not be hyperlinked. We expect the work to externally hyperlink the Guide Parts will be completed by the end of the year. We have about 10,000 pages of content to work through manually.
Superseded Guides
The superseded editions of the Guides can be accessed by choosing Archived in the Publication State filter.
What's next?
In the short term we'll be using your feedback to help us tweak the site's search functions.
By the end of the year we plan to:
- fully link the Guides Online
- add click and drag sorting functionality to the bookmarks on your profile page
- allow you to update your detailed profile information
- show the superseded dates of the archived Guides.
