Austroads has published a guideline to help organisations determine the appropriate minimum level of componentisation for road infrastructure assets.

Minimum Levels of Componentisation for Road Infrastructure Assets: Guideline has been developed to:

  • improve the integration of Asset Management and Financial Management disciplines
  • provide prescriptive guidance regarding minimum levels of componentisation
  • provide a benchmark for stakeholders and users (i.e. road management authorities and auditors)
  • enable equitable reform initiatives.

It is intended that this guideline will drive a more consistent approach to data management, asset recognition and preparation of financial statements.

In turn, this will enable more efficient collation of national data sets used to enable equitable reform initiatives.

Minimum Levels of Componentisation for Road Infrastructure Assets: Background Research details the background research that underpins the Guideline.

free webinar on Tuesday 11 September 2018 will provide an overview of the guideline and how to apply it.
