Feedback now open on Guide to Temporary Traffic Management Parts 2 and 8

Thursday, 29 March 2018

Austroads has released Parts 2 and 8 of the Guide to Temporary Traffic Management for industry consultation.

This new guide will, once completed, provide comprehensive national guidance for all practitioners operating in Temporary Traffic Management.

The two draft parts released for comment are:

  • Part 2: Traffic Management Plan (TMP)
  • Part 8: Traffic Controller Instructions

The drafts are available here, and comments should be included on the document review templates provided with the drafts. Comments provided on any other format may not be considered.

The industry comment period closes on Monday 30 April 2018.

Last month, Austroads released Parts 4, 5 and 6 of the Guide to Temporary Traffic Management for industry feedback. These parts are focused on the design of Traffic Guidance Schemes for the layout of temporary traffic management devices and the supporting operational practices to be applied to safely work within the schemes. Industry consultation on these three parts has now closed. Austroads would like to thank those who submitted comments.

The guidance material in the draft documents is based on existing practices and amended to reflect the latest feedback from the Working Group consisting of Austroads member authorities and selected industry bodies.

The guides are intended to replace the relevant material currently contained in Australian Standard AS1742.3 and associated State and Territory documents. The material is also intended to reflect practices to be applied in New Zealand but due to differences in signage practices may require additional supporting documentation in New Zealand.

If you have any queries with regards to this industry consultation, please send an email to the project manager Dan Sullivan at austroads@solutionsintransport.com.au
